Structure of ESJA managment:

1. Board of Managment

This BOM has 5 members. At this moment there are only two members who are serving as coordinators until the first European Championship. These gentlemen are Dr. Ivica Zdravkovic, PR of ESJA and Mr. Goran Jaksic, Chairman of ESJA. Places of ESJA President and two Vice-presidents are still open. Election to these positions will be made soon. All ESJA national representatives are invited to recommend valuable individuals to these positions. BOM has final decision over all ESJA activities, including calendar of competitions, competition rules, membership applications, etc.

2. Sports Council - gathered on every European Championship.

This Council consists of one national representative from all member countries. Sport Council makes recommendations for competition rules, competition calendar, etc.

3. Advisory Board - highest ranked sensei

President of this body is Dr. Giacomo Spartaco Bertoletti, Jujutsu Hanshi from Italy. He is at the same time Honorary President of ESJA. Other members of advisory Board will be all ESJA instructors with jujutsu ranks 8th Dan or higher (Menkyo Kaiden).

To become a member of ESJA, one organization, group or individual has to accept following terms:

1. To understand well ESJA competition rules and fully accept them.
2. To accept the structure and organization of ESJA
3. To organize national championships and/or electoral tournament for European Championship
4. To educate, test and promote national referees within the ESJA rules
5. To attend European Championship with National Team
6. To provide at least one competent international referee for European Championships
7. To give one representative to Sports Council meetings

If ESJA gets two or more applications from same country,  a following simple method of decision will be used:

1) Official national registered organizations will have priority over informal groups and individual applications

2) Groups of clubs will have priority over one single club or sensei

3) In case of several individual applications, those who have proofs of previous sport activities and who are regularly communicating with ESJA will have priority over other applicants.

Once elected national representatives (organization, group or individual) will not be changed as long as they abide by the rules of ESJA.

All National representative will be listed on ESJA site and will receive a Letter of Appointment from ESJA HQ.

National representatives may be replaced in following cases:

1. If they don't attend European Championship
2. If they show obvious lack of interest or lack of respect for ESJA activities and/ormembers
3. If they resign or pass away.

National representatives are free to organize bilateral, trilateral or regional competitions, open cups, etc. National representatives are allowed to apply for organization and hosting of future European Championships. Sport Council decides with majority of votes about these applications. Sport Council also decides about the design of medals and diplomas, standards of competition organization, change of rules, etc. All decisions of Sport Council must be approved by the President of ESJA and ESJA BOM. In case of inactivity of ESJA President, his illness or death, his deputy (Vice-president) will organize a meeting of Sport Council and decide on the future of ESJA.
